This pair of birdies was my second (and third) carving. I wanted to create a set of creatures that would face each other so I could have them interacting. They are also sourced from a Dover Publication. They have a tribal funkiness while still being refined. That is the same balance I’m trying to strike between a “polished” and “handmade” look.
I then used them to stamp over some painted (acrylic) boarding passes. (I’m often too lazy to reach further than my trashcan for source material?) Stamping on top of backgrounds opened my mind to all sorts of possibilities.
